Kyndara Cosplay Update (Raven Con 2026)

If you haven’t seen my previous post about making my Kyndara cosplay, check that out here!

This article is a bit late, but better late than never, as they say. I was hoping to include some photos by the con’s costume contest photographer, but haven’t found where to access them yet, so this is what I’ve got. 🤷‍♀️

Progress updates

My attempt to upgrade my Kyndara cosplay in the couple weeks leading up to Raven Con did not go according to plan. There were three remaining things that I wanted to change to match the idea in my head: redoing the lower bodice to add the second belt, adding more gold trim to the overskirt, and adding the second layer of the sleeves. I thought I was going to have enough time to get through all of them, but life had other plans.

Remaking the lower half of the bodice was way more time consuming than I expected. Getting it to fit properly proved to be complicated, and I lost several hours one afternoon trying to troubleshoot a usually reliable sewing machine at my university’s on-campus makerspace. I ended up sewing the last belt accents during the car ride over and in my hotel room before getting dressed to go to the con.

I made a few Instagram reels while working on the upgrades, not featured here, but you can find them on my Instagram page! For now here’s a couple highlights from my WIP photos:

Photos from the con!

Here are my photos of my upgraded cosplay and a short clip of me in the costume contest!

First up, me outside our hotel. The crown was unfortunately slightly broken and didn’t stay on well, so I took it off after getting the photos.

And here’s a short clip of me in the costume contest! The video quality isn’t great, but oh well.

…And last but not least, me with the trophy for winning best in class for the journeyman category in the cosplay contest! 😄🎉🔥

Not sure when I’ll get around to those last few upgrades, but if/when I do I’ll be sure to post more updates!
